FAQ:

Can I comment on tumblr or only on AO3?

Either one is great! The tags are drawn from AO3, but most can be adjusted to suit tumblr as well, so I say go for it. Tumblr fics deserve love, too.

Can one comment count toward multiple squares if the fic fits more than one category?

Since the goal is for as many fics to receive comments as possible, try to comment on a different fic for each square.

Is there a time limit?

Nope! Take your time or set your own deadline, whatever works for you. This blog is still in its early experimental stage, so feedback welcome. Play around and let me know what you like and what might be added/changed—including ideas for squares on future cards!

Do I have to record progress on the actual card?

Nope! If it’s easier to keep track in a different way, that’s fine. This is all very honor system, so if you say you earned a Bingo, we’ll call it a win 🎉

Some people have been tracking not just completed tasks, but the fics they read along the way, so that when they post a bingo, they can also promote the fics/authors in a little rec list. Not required, but definitely cool to see!

Can I adjust the task in a particular square to suit my comfort level?

Of course! If you deliver something in the spirit of the task, then it’s all good. Use your best judgement in constructing a comment that will make the author smile, and you can consider it a job well done.

In general, so long as each square has produced at least one comment, you’re golden and I salute you 🫡

Okay so, I think it's very likely that after Stede and Ed have had their first reunion they're gonna be separated again soon after. Probably because Ed's gonna be like "I'm totally over you actually and don't wanna see your stupid face ever again" and run away from Stede just because of how absolutely tooooootally over him he is, right? So Stede will probably be aboard the Revenge while Ed is elsewhere having his Live Laugh Love spiritual journey of Finding Himself and all that.

Now imagine Stede all bummed out because he's just having the full realisation of exactly how much he hurt Ed, and there's no hope, he absolutely blew it, Ed obviously wants nothing to do with him ever again! Despair! So he goes to mope to the Captain's quarters, wallows in the tragic state of them a bit while missing Ed terribly, and his eyes catch on a funky little skeleton dressed up all in black on a familiar spot on a particular shelf...

And he finds not only all of his auxiliary clothes intact, but also a nest in the middle of the room with two little figurines in it that have a very particular look to them!

Cue "Hello, Edward!" and "shipmates" and chasing Ed all over the place while Ed is like "who are you again?" and "I don't need you at all, look how I'm thriving all by myself and I definitely don't miss you, not even a little bit!", y'know, like a liar. And maybe they're having messy sex throughout all of this or maybe they're not, but either way, Stede knows! He knows! He saw the proof of Ed's heart carefully hidden away where only Stede could find it! He can fix this! He's gonna put his all into earning that trust back! Because he knows there's hope! ;U;

And yeah, this is more of a headcanon than actual speculation, but it's eating me alive, so I had to inflict it on you all as wel! 🔥🙌🔥

Hi! I love this blog and I've been enjoying doing the bingo card. I'm just curious how people are incorporating the "comment bargaining firstborn for more" square into their comments. I'm honestly having a hard time thinking of a way to phrase it that doesn't seem rude or demanding, but I'm probably just overthinking it. Just want to make sure it comes off as excited and appreciative and not like I'm pressuring the author. Thanks in advance for any advice <3

DEFINITELY the most inherently unhinged task on the whole card 😂 and the one i've been most curious how people would approach (because i agree, there's a fine line between hyperbolic enthusiasm and demanding entitlement).

Originally I was envisioning one of those comically over-the-top type of comments (rending of clothes/hair vibes) that follows something they'd been intensely anticipating or dreading or some diabolical cliffhanger that left them chewing drywall.

So, imagining that context, in the spirit of full-blown over-the-topness, I personally would produce something along the lines of

I am worshipping this story. I am building an altar to this story. I am sacrificing my dearest possessions and hypothetical firstborn to this story so that you may have all the time energy and word magic required for the rest of this story you absolute wizard amen 🙏

Some people are SO GOOD at those hilariously unhinged torrents of praise?? I wouldn't consider myself one of them usually, but I can think of a few stories that left me frothing at the mouth enough to have triggered this kind of comment!!
